Childrens Hospital Los Angeles’s mission is to make a world of difference in the lives of children, adolescents and their families by integrating medical care, education and research to provide the highest quality care and service.  The Hospital is known for advancing research and providing definitive diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents with complex diseases. It is the largest regional referral center serving more than 62,000 children a year in the Emergency Department alone. While most of the children admitted to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles come from Los Angeles County, others come from seven-county areas near Los Angeles. The San Jose Animal Center is a full-service animal care facility serving San Jose and its surrounding areas. It is responsible for thousands of animals that are brought to the Animal Care Center each year. Through the tireless efforts of the kennel, veterinary, and volunteer staff, these animals are provided with care and facilities such that they can be adopted out to new homes.
